Dassai Blue, Sake Yamada Nishiki, Junmai Daiginjo "Type 50" 720ml
The debut sake from Dassai Blue brewed in New York's Hudson Valley, this aromatic and not too dry sake is made from Yamada Nishiki rice using local water.
Delicate pear and apple mingle with hints of tropical fruit and peach, accented by a touch of floral elegance. Take a sip, and you'll be greeted by a light and silky texture.
A touch of sweetness dances on the tongue alongside vibrant notes of tropical fruit, crisp green apple, and subtle grainy and nutty hints. The finish is clean and refreshing, leaving a delightful zest that lingers.
“Dassai” literally means "otter festival." This is a word that was used long ago in the Yamaguchi Prefecture as there were many otters frolicking in the nearby rivers. Otters would lay out on the shore fishes they caught, almost as if they are showing them off – like one would do during in a festival.
