100% Baga

Chalky clay soil. 100% destemmed. Individual vineyards fermented separately with long maceration but low extraction. Final blend made after short elevage in tank.

Distinguished and elegant fruit-driven nose with notes of strawberry, damson plum, licorice and hints of black pepper. Fruity and balanced on the palate with a velvety texture which leads to a fresh finish. Pairs well with charcuterie, dried cheeses, and white meats.

The philosophy of Filipa Pato and William Wouters is simple: to create authentic wines without makeup, wines that express the true nature of the vineyards from which they come. They focus on indigenous grapes only: in their hands, biodynamically-farmed Baga, Bical, Arinto, Cercial and Maria Gomes produce soulful wines from vineyards with ideal soils, microclimates and aspects for growing exquisite wine grapes. 

In the cellar they gently handle the grapes, practicing minimal intervention guarded by strict monitoring of the wine to allow the grapes to express themselves fully. The ultimate outcome is the creation of terroir-driven wines through the uniting of knowledge, art, and nature.
