The bouquet is full, complex, intense and elegant, with notes of tobacco, spices, cherry, berries and balsamic aromas. The taste is enveloping and persistent with distinct notes of plum, bitter cherry, strawberry jam, black pepper and licorice.
Radici, produced for the first time in 1986, is the result of a long and careful research concerning exposure, soil profiles, soil texture and specific characteristics of the vineyards’ terroir. Its strong, dense structure and the aromatic concentration are the most evident characters of this prestigious interpreter of Irpinian viticulture.
Classic red vinification, long maceration on the skins (about 25 days). Refines in French oak barriques and Slavonian oak casks for about 30 months and at least for 40 months in bottles.
Mastroberardino is one of Italy’s leading wineries and wine families. Its history dates to the early 18th century. As one of Italy’s top winemaking estates, it holds a proud place in Italy’s viticultural history as a guardian of native grapes of southern Italy’s Campania region. The family has not just worked to maintain them but has also successfully turned almost extinct grapes into world class varieties.
